Status Metroic is a young company developing a technology which enables electricity meters to check themselves and make any adjustments to ensure they are always measuring energy consumption accurately. Perhaps surprisingly, no such technology exists elsewhere today. Technology Existing energy measurement systems are “open loop”. They rely on the integrity of the energy measurement sensor to remain accurate over time and over changes in environmental conditions such as temperature and frequency. Metroic’s mSure technology uses advanced semiconductor integrated circuit techniques to supervise the sensor and ensure accurate readings at all times. Applications mSure will be an integral part of electronic smart meters, smart appliances, industrial machines, renewable sources and IT equipment. The benefits are significant. Energy usage efficiency, equipment diagnostic checks, improved efficiencies, and preventative maintenance will all be enhanced.
