Mewat is a very background area of Haryana and Rajasthan. It's been deprived of its basic and fundamental rights. The people of Mewat still are waiting for their rights but there wasn't any media house to raise their voice against any type of oppression, discrimination and so on. Mewat hadn't any professional media house till 2018. M Sufyan Saif, a graduate student of Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi got an idea to start a media house in Mewat. He started to work on his idea with a little team of members. Finalliy, On August 05,2018 this idea came true. Mewat Times was officially launched and inaugurated on this day in presence of great personalities of Mewat, Delhi and others. Mewat Times launched Mewat Times Tv and Hindi, English and Urdu versions also. The chief guests of the inauguration ceremony were Ch. Aftab Ahmad, Former Transport Minister Haryana & MLA Nuh and Panini Anand, Editor in Chief, AAJTAK. Amir Abibi, Director of Taraqqi Foundation, Muhammad Ahmed, Editor of Watan News, IT Professional Hafeez M Khan, Imran Ahmed Senior Lawyer Press of India, Maqbool Ahmed, Senior Journalist AajTak, and Mewat Historian Siddiq Ahmad Meo were honored with books and shawls. While addressing the people, Panni Anand, Editor-in-Chief, AajTak.com said that social media is very important and effective medium in current era. There are almost 200 million Facebook users in India, this is a world record. There are no such users anywhere in the world. He said that by presenting better news through social media networking, people can be persuaded. He said that the upcoming Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections in the country will be contested on the basis of social media. He said also that the youth of Mewat has a lot of enthusiasm in social media. Among those young people, Mewat Times is strengthening its hold and catch-up on video and social networking sites .
