Meyer & O'Connor, LLC, was founded in 2007 by John A. Meyer, a former federal prosecutor and formerly principal of the Law Offices of John A. Meyer, and Timothy P. O'Connor, formerly a partner in the Litigation Department of Winston & Strawn.The firm combines deep, substantial experience in complex civil and criminal litigation with extensive trial and appellate experience. Both John Meyer and Timothy O'Connor are experienced trial and appellate lawyers, have "AV" peer review ratings from Martindale Hubbell and routinely try cases. Collectively, the firm's partners have tried over one hundred jury trials and numerous bench trials, evidentiary hearings and arbitrations; have briefed and argued over fifty appeals and numerous significant motions; have participated in the defense or prosecution of numerous complex civil claims involving millions and sometimes billions of dollars in damages; and have defended hundreds of criminal cases. The firm offers representation in four basic areas: complex commercial litigation; federal criminal defense; civil rights defense; and tort litigation. The firm also partners with other firms to offer representation in "large case" litigation.
