Authenticity is a big word these days, usually uttered by someone trying to sell you the mystic potential of their canned beverage, or those who would have you believe that would-be ancients in the jungle drank concentrates and preservatives. Disappointed with said panderings and the astringent artificiality of the yerba mate drinks on the market, we decided to do better.Our love for yerba mate led us to its birthplace in Paraguay, taking us along the dusty highways of the Trans-Chaco, to the bustling river-side metropolis of Asuncion, to the yawning skies of the Alto Parana. If we learned one thing from our journey, it's that no company could ever replicate the experience of Paraguayan yerba mate. Yerba mate is more than a beverage. It's an experience that knits communities together, shared with us sip by sip in town plazas and roadside gas stations.We've made our version of terere with the exact ingredients you'd find back in Paraguay: Organic, aged yerba mate, fresh spearmint and lime, all cold brewed together by hand for maximum flavor. So while you might be missing the bombilla and the shade of a courtyard, you can still share a bottle of Mi Mate with your friends and family. This beverage is an homage to Paraguay and its ways, to the people who opened their homes to us and broke bread with us, who had the patience to share their stories.
