Michigan Center for Truck Safety is a grant funded not-for-profit organization. Our core mission, to provide Michigan's motor carriers and professional truck drivers with information and training on state and federal trucking regulations; at little or no cost. Educational information for the general motoring public is also available; instructing drivers how to operate safely around large trucks.The Center's core safety programs are:* Safety Hotline at 800-682-4682: Provides motor carriers and driver information concerning current state and federal trucking regulations.* Management Training: Workshops, seminars and onsite visits provide management personnel with a better understanding of regulations and record-keeping requirements. * The National Safety Council's Defensive Driving for Professional Truck Drivers.* Fatigue Management online training program * Driver Performance Measurement: One-on-one evaluation of your driver's normal driving habits, feedback to the driver and a report of the training provided to the company.* Simulator training with many comprehensive safe driving simulation scenarios.* Other topic specific driver classroom training/meetings can be accommodated upon request.In addition to educational programs, the center provides a variety of free safety publications including the popular "Truck Driver's Guidebook".
