Mick the Red Films was founded by artist and filmmaker Michael Stogner in 2007. Best known for the award-winning film Life on Mars, MTRF continues to produce short and feature length genre films, including the political thrillers Safe Return and Chubby Baby, and the absurdist fantasy Becoming Brando. Originally located in Norfolk, VA, the company has had the fortune of working with some of the most talented filmmakers and actors in Hampton Roads. In 2016 the company relocated to the Los Angeles area, in further pursuit of its mission statement: Mick the Red Films is dedicated to the production and promotion of thought provoking genre cinema.In addition to producing films in-house, MTRF offers production management services for hire to other filmmakers.
