MidasPlus Fundraising is a registered charity dedicated to helping disadvantaged people in South Middlesex, and North West Surrey plus surrounding areas; people who have nowhere else to turn.The gift of a fully powered wheelchair gives even a severely disabled person a freedom and independence that we able-bodied take so much for granted; it's life-changing for them and their carers. In the last few years, we've donated 5 fully powered wheelchairs to local people.Taking over 50 adults with disabilities & special needs on a week's holiday is an incredible undertaking for the many wonderful volunteers who are involved; but just buying them an ice-cream each day costs £100! MidasPlus undertakes to raise 50% of the total £15,000 that it costs.Carpeting for a hard-up young mum with twins just at the crawling stage, a new bath and WC for an elderly man struggling to look after himself, renovating the hairdressing facility at a sheltered accommodation, making a garden safe for a young child with severe down's syndrome and hyper-activity, providing a bespoke bicycle for a boy with cerebral palsy are examples of just some of the projects that MidasPlus has accomplished since we were established.In addition, MidasPlus have paid for new fencing for Heathrow Farm who give disable people riding lessons, donated two new mobility scooters and furniture to Staines Shopmobility and refurbished a shower room at the White Lodge CentreMidasPlus raises most of its funds by holding local money raising events; persuading local restaurants and hotels to hold dinners and karaoke evenings, Elvis nights, an annual Valentine Ball, RAF concerts, Golf Days, bucket collections and duck races, and roping in volunteers, rotary and even the local mayor on occasions to assist.We always need people to help out with events, administration and general organisation, and we're always keen to hear of anyone needing our help.Please help us to help others.
