As the only confirmed physically-attended fashion event in the region – the inaugural Middle East Fashion Week (MEFW) will produce a majestic fashion experience with state-of-the-art technology, pop-up activations, and a breath-taking catwalk – a week of events like nothing the Middle East has seen before.Five days of glamorous fashion shows featuring up and coming designers, culminating in a dinner gala and awards ceremony – hosted in the heart of the UAE. Within this fashion week, we will also be hosting a three-day micro sustainability forum focusing on SDGs 9, 12, and 17.To demonstrate our sustainability credo, we have committed to offsetting our carbon footprint with our "20/1 Year Plan." Since it takes an average of 20 years to compensate for one's carbon footprint, we are paying 20 times more to jumpstart the process. The April edition will follow this 20/1 Year Plan to the best of its ability, offsetting any carbon that we use in process.The design talent in the Middle East gets stronger each year, with homegrown brands regularly showcasing at New York, London, Paris, and Milan. An exciting new event for fashion design in the Middle East is a great step forward for promoting the talent in the region, and recognizing the size and influence of the Middle East's luxury market.
