The mission of Middlebury Foods is to make sure that every member of Addison County, VT can buy fresh produce and groceries without At under $2 per meal, we sell supermarket-quality food at fast food prices. We are a non-profit that relies on student volunteer labor. Our board members and executives give their time because they are passionate about changing the community's relationship to healthy food. We operate on the slimmest profit possible to continue to expand the business and making it self-sustaining. Many organizations bring down costs by dispensing low-quality products. We make no such compromise. The food we sell is the same quality as what you'd find at the supermarket. Often, it's even better. Furthermore, we deliver the food directly to the communities we serve. By partnering with local community leaders, including churches and community organizers, we get to know our customers individually. Despite having non-profit status, we operate in many ways as a traditional business. Our customers purchase their own food and thus hold us directly accountable. Our products are tailored to meet our customers' high standards and demands. Without any wealthy shareholders to distract us, we can focus directly on our customers. We know that if our customers don't like what we sell, we won't be able to stay in business. Middlebury Foods is inspired by Top Box Foods, which has successfully served thousands of people in Chicago.
