Fund-raising - Middlesbrough, England, United Kingdom
The Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation is a registered charity, setup by Teessiders, for Teessiders. Our primary objective is to make Teesside a better place to live, work and do business. We target social groups, charitable organisations and vulnerable individuals within the TS postcode, and provide them with financial support. We also act like a network, providing contacts and bringing people together, so fellow Teessiders can help each other. Through various means we distribute our funds to those most in need within Teesside. Our objective is so wide ranging we not only provide smaller amounts to schools who may need to purchase necessities for a pupil, but also larger grants of up to £5,000 for bigger projects that provide far-reaching social benefit. We also have 3 caravans based in Filey to provide short breaks to families in need of respite. Our newest caravan is an accessible caravan, adapted for those with disabilities which we bought with a large donation from the Finlay Cooper Fund. We cover the cost of their travel, provide them with a food hamper and give them a small amount of spending money. It doesn't sound much, but it means that some of the most underprivileged families in Teesside are able to have a holiday; the difference it makes is incredible. Many of us take our holidays for granted, but for some families, a short break in one of our caravans may be the only holiday they ever get. We're a spreader of good news stories. Yes, lots of these stories have sad elements, but with our generous donors' money we are able to make huge differences to people within Teesside. We like to think of ourselves as one big family and encourage everyone to get involved. There are countless ways you can do this, from corporate patronage, to a small regular donation. When we say we can make a lasting impact with every penny we receive, we really mean it.For more information, please visit our website.
