The Migrant Centre NI's mission is tackling racism and eliminating barriers against migrant communities in Northern Ireland. Begun in 2010 as a consortium of UNISON, the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, and NICEM, the Migrant Centre assists migrants and ethnic minority communities in Northern Ireland by providing bilingual services, and assisting victims of hate crimes, racial harassment, and crisis situations.The Migrant Centre also promotes tolerance and understanding through the Belonging Project, an arts and culture project which involves a series of portraits and accompanying workshops exhibited and facilitated in community centres, libraries, and various public spaces throughout Northern Ireland.
