MiGreat has a simple, yet controversial belief: we need to create legal opportunities for migration. Human movement can and should be safe, humane and (mi)great. Opportunities for safe migration need to be accessible for refugees and economic migrants, regardless of whether they are rich or poor, religious or atheist, black or white, with or without education. We believe every refugee has a right to emergency aid in the shape of food, non-food items, medical care, shelter and education. But that's not everything - we believe refugees and other migrants are much more than helpless creatures who need aid. We believe they need to be able to work, study, rent or buy a house. Consequently, they will contribute to their host states, become less or independent on aid and make migration great again.WE HAVE THREE MAIN OBJECTIVES:- Provide necessary assistance to migrants. Every human has a right to sufficient food, clothes, shelter, medical and psychological care, regardless of the legal situation this person has in the country.- End the War on Migration. We believe in less walls, less violent border police and no more disencouragement policies. Not only are they ineffective and expensive, but also extremely harmful. Migration needs to be approached as a fact of life and needs to be facilitated rather than prevented at any cost. Most importantly, institutionalized violence against migrants needs to end.- Provide opportunities for (prospective) migrants, including opportunities for refugees and migrants alike to apply for visa in home or host countries, and abolish restricted access to labour, education and housing both for regular and irregular migrants to secure long term independence.
