The history of MIKADO SEED GROWERS INC. dates back to the 1850s when the founder – Asagoro KOSHIBE – began MARUASA KOSHIBE ASAGORO SHOTEN in Tokyo.During the war years, MARUASA KOSHIBE ASAGORO SHOTEN in conjunction with the Japanese Government established TEIKOKU SEED Co.,.It rose to become the biggest seed company in Japan until 1949.Heihachiro KOSHIBE then went on to estabilsh MIKADO SEED GROWERS INC.In 1951, Kyoichi MAGOSHI established MAGOSHI SEED, also known as KYOWA SEED, in Tokyo.Both companies endeavored to supply better vegetable varieties to the growers.MIKADO SEED GROWERS INC. was known primarily for Daikon Radish, Watermelon and Melon varieties.KYOWA SEED was known foremost for Squash, Cabbage and Bunching Onion.Many years after in 2007, MIKADO SEED GROWERS INC. and KYOWA SEED were merged into a new company now known as MIKADO KYOWA SEED and is affiliated with the Limagrain Group.We will continue in our efforts to meet our customer needs and to provide quality seed to the growers of the world
