Mike Nicolaassen developed an interest in pop photography during his studies to become a photographer.In the year 2000 his interest in music and photography combined perfectly. These interest soon became a passion.The first years were dominated by a lot of live photography getting to know bands and hitting the road with them both nationally and internationally. It didn't matter wich band it was or where they played, Mike wanted to get them in front of his camera, and often go involved witch them on a personal level.In 2003 his efforts were starting to pay off. Mike was contacted by UP magazines to shoot a couple of cover shoots. Working for UP magazines he photographed bands like The Offspring, Madball, Int. Noise Conspiracy and Danko Jones. These shoots all made the front cover of the magazine.In recent years, Mike has increasingly been approached by bands, magazines and companies to be an active part of of the music scene on their behalf. He also worked as a pop photographer for Jack Daniels.In 2018 Mike Nicolaassen is a respected (pop) photographer. Rammstein, Marilyn Manson, Motorhead, The Black Keys and R.e.m. are just a small selection of his clients.
