Mike Roberts Consulting was established to assist companies operating in the maritime and logistics sectors with a strong focus on commercial and operational aspects of the business.The organisation is temporarily suspended as I am now in full time employ as Commercial VP for ADNOC's tanker division.Given Mike's experience in the oil market as a charterer, shipowner and broker; short-term cover for charterer / shipowner / broker roles across the globe are a specialty. Mike has extensive knowledge of all ship sizes (VLCC to river barge) and hydrocarbon cargoes (crude, DPP, CPP). Moreover, Mike understands the various markets, follows the trends and knows the key players, thus adding value immediately. Short term cover, whether for sickness, extended business travel, vacations or maternity leave allows companies to free up other brokers, freight traders to concentrate on their specific functions rather than 'firefight' a volatile and ever changing freight market.Mike has a proven ability to start contributing after only a very short handover.Absolute discretion assured.Long or short term consultancy positions across the world considered and non-executive roles welcomed.Mike has worked in shipping / maritime logistics industry for over thirty years since graduating with a degree in Nautical Studies (Maritime Business and Naval Architecture) from Plymouth University in 1988. Mike was elected to Fellowship of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers in 1996.An experienced negotiator with strong interpersonal skills, Mike has succeeded in adding value, developing businesses, strengthening bonds with existing customers, bringing in new clients and establishing new trades. With a proven ability to 'hit the ground running' Mike can quickly get to grips with new scenarios, identify opportunities and use his extensive network of contacts to facilitate the development of your company.
