Miksang is a Tibetan word that means 'Good Eye'.'Good' has a different connotation as how we use it in good and bad. 1. Good here means that everything has basic goodness, and we have the same basic goodness. 2. 'Good' refers also to the natural brilliance of things as they are.'Eye' means that we have the inherent ability of pure perception & clear seeing. We can contact direct with the vividness of things as they are - free of meaning, free of interpretation, free of judgement, free of dividing everything we experience in to 'I like it', 'I don't like it' or 'I don't care'. Tje joy we experience from a state of being alignment is the kind of deep joy when connected in the here and now, body and mind synchronised. When we experience a moment of vivid and direct seeing, connecting to the natural brilliance of the everyday world we experience a moment of 'Good Eye'.Practicing Miksang Contemplative Photography comprises the vision, the process and the end result of pure perception and pure expression.By practicing contemplative photography we remember our childlike wonderment, how we as a child looked at the world around us with wonder and awe. The world opens up as a playground of wonder, everyday beauty and genuine photographic expression. One moment at a time - joyful & free!
