As a military child and professional counselor, I found that I wanted to develop a platform about children in families who serve in the United States Armed Forces. We are all familiar with the term Military BRAT, which stands for British Regiment Attached Traveler and we have held on to that identity since then. I came up with the acronym S.T.A.R.S., which stand for the characteristics that military children accrue during their unique journey in this world. I have always said that military children are scholars, travelers, adaptive, resilient and superheroes themselves. I am excited to use this platform to highlight those traits, while offering resources and activities.
