Yoga is the union of your mind, body and breath. It is not about a pose the person next to you is doing on their mat or about pushing yourself to an uncomfortable limit. It is about being mindful to your own needs in that moment in time. Parinamavada is the idea that constant change is an inherent part of life. Therefore, to proceed skillfully with any action, we must first assess where we are starting from today; we cannot assume we are quite the same person we were yesterday. We are all prone to ignoring the changing conditions of our body-mind; we often distort the reality of who we are based on who we think that we should be. Yoga is a practice that has benefits that can last a lifetime, that is why I decided on the name: Mind Body Soul 4 Life. Studies have shown the far reaching impact of yoga (just Google it)! Yoga can relieve hip & back pain, reduce stress & anxiety, build muscle tone, increases flexibility, increases lung capacity, increase performance in school or the work place, can increase athletic performance & can just make you a nicer person to be around! Plain and simple….it just makes your body & mind perform better! When you leave a yoga class you may feel like you have a different perspective on life and a general good feeling of "zen"!
