We are a 20 person mobile headquarters that deploys throughout the world to respond to and remove sea mines from waterways. MCM Division 31 servs as operational immediate superior in command over assigned mine countermeasures units to conduct independent coordinated , and sustained mine countermeasures operations and exercises in support of Commander, Third Fleet Maritime Homeland Defense; develop and coordinate mine countermeasures plans for Commander Second Fleet, Commander Third Fleet, Commander Sixth Fleet, and Commander Fourth Fleet. When directed, tactically employ assigned air, surface, and undersea mine countermeasures forces in support of theater operations and exercises.
