JMG also responsible for ensuring the quarrying and mining activities are carried out in an orderly and safe and comply with the laws that have been established. JMG also conduct research and development (R & D) in the mineral sector to develop the country's mineral industry.JMG also committed in the survey and geoscience services expertise covers the areas of geological mapping, underground water resources, engineering geology, geological disasters, environmental geology, marine geology, geophysics, remote sensing, mineralogy, petrology and other areas of geosciences.This vision is in line with the country's vision to become a developed and high-income countries by 2020.
