DCAPM came about in November 2016, following the restructuring of the different ministries within the government. The Department of Civil Aviation, Ports & Marine was transferred under the umbrella of the Ministry of Tourism. The mandate of DCAPM is to guide the Maritime and Aviation sector by providing policy directions, laws, and regulations.Secondly, to work in collaboration with international bodies such as IMO, ICAO, and IATA.Furthermore, to conduct researches and to advise on matters concerning aviation, ports, and marine.
