The purpose of our society is to: - Foster, improve and promote research in the development of contact lenses.- Establish a foundation for research in any and all phases of the contact lens field.- Instill mutual understanding and cooperation among all persons interested in contact lenses.We were established in 1971 and have approximately 150 active members in the Minnesota Contact Lens Society. Some of our members have 30+ years of experience while others are just beginners. Most of our membership is from Minnesota. However, we have a number of members from Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, South Dakota and North Dakota. We generally offer two meetings a year: a one to two day meeting in the spring and a two day meeting in the fall. Our Basic Contact Lens Fitting seminars held each spring are submitted to NCLE and JCAHPO for continuing education credits. Our 2-day Minnesota Contact Lens Symposium held each fall is submitted to NCLE, JCAHPO and COPE for continuing education credits.
