Sports - Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
Minnesota Ice Swim Club was re-established in January 2019 with the mission to provide a safe and affirming community for LGBTQ+ athletes, promoting health and fitness through the sport of swimming.Originally founded in the 1990's, "MN Ice" (a play on words of "Minnesota Nice" and the fact that Minnesota is a wintry state), the group largely disbanded with the exception of registering the club with the International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics association (IGLA) in order for swimmers to compete in international competition. It is the goal to develop Minnesota Ice into one of the premier LGBTQ swim clubs in the US and abroad. We welcome all regardless of sexual orientation, gender, or ability level. It is our hope that all can develop and foster a life-long passion for swimming. Come join us for practice!Minnesota Ice Swim Club is registered with United States Masters Swimming (USMS) and IGLA. Practices are held every Sunday from 1:30-2:30pm and Wednesdays 6-7pm at Phillips Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, MN. For more information on membership, visit our website at mniceswimclub.com and follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
