Miriam's house is a residential facility for formerly homeless women living with HIV. Our mission is to do this in a dynamic community that empowers recovery from homelessness, disease and addictions in an environment of compassion, integrity, and accountability. Miriam's House offers three levels of housing on site: -a transitional program for women who recover health and are able to plan for a move to independent living, -hospice to provide loving care for women who are living their last days, and -a permanent residence for as long as it is appropriate, for women who need neither of the other alternatives. In-house services include addiction counseling, secondary medical care, respite care for mothers, support groups, financial counseling, personal care aide, and transportation to appointments. Off-site services include physical, occupational, and speech therapies, medical care, counseling, acupuncture and alternative therapies, adult HIV/AIDS day programs, and NA/AA meetings.
