OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETYOH&S is an integral part of our operation not just for our own staff and personnel, but also for subcontractors, clients, and fellow contractors on a project and the public. All new staff goes through a safety induction process in line with the highest Industry Standards. In addition, a full induction is carried out before the beginning of a new project. An important element of our OH&S policy is our Risk Assessment Process, Which has to be carried out at the earliest possible stage of a project. QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEMMirian Construction is constantly putting in place and maintaining quality systems, in pursuit of always meeting the requirements of AS/NZS IS09001:2000. Having a quality management system in place is a matter of great importance for us in retaining the confidence of our customers and ensuring continuity of work from them. Mirian Constructions does not rely on chance to achieve the quality required by its customers, but has the quality management system to ensure that we get it right the first time around. The directors and management have the total commitment of the company who assure the success of this quality system. RISK ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEMIdentifying and managing risks is part of those daily tasks undertaken by Mirian Constructions'​ staff, which is fully supported by the company's director. Therefore, risk management is not a stand-alone concept that is merely incorporated into Mirian' Business Plan. It is applied to all areas of our business. Whenever a project is to be tendered on, Mirian Management Policy specifies that a Risk Analysis needs to be performed to asses if the project is viable. Project risks need to be identified in the tender stages, at the earliest possible instance. This allows the customer to be aware of risks identified and accept that these risks will require a management process to be put in place within the quality plan. From this, a project plan is derived, calling on Work Method Statements to be used for specific tasks. These work method statements are supported by other documentation such as reports, plans, checklists, records, and forms.
