Ready to Run is a national nonprofit organization focused on inspiring and empowering girls in middle and high school to run for student government. We believe and know that when girls run at this age their propensity to run later in life increases immensely. We are on a mission to unlock each girl's leadership and political agency early on, so she can find her voice and with it change the world. We are building an online campaign school that will teach girls how and why to run for student government. We want to encourage and inspire them to step up to lead, because research has shown that sometimes we as girls need an extra nudge. We want to be part of a broad community encouraging our girls every step of the way. Ultimately, we aim to increase the current statistics of women in elected positions in the United States. At the local, state, and federal levels, female representation averages around 20%. Having diverse voices at the table is critical to creating legislation that represents us all.
