Donna F. Slaton is Miss Pockets, a professional storyteller. With over 25 years experience as a children's librarian, community volunteer experience as a 4-H and Scout Leader, county fair and arts council volunteer, she can help you design your event and entertain for any and all ages. Stories to entertain and uplift from classics like Goldilocks and the Three Bears to her own story of Third Place and Applesauce in Outer Space (a bio of John Glenn), Miss Pockets designs her story set to meet your need. SHe is focusing on American Heroes Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, and personal stories of uplifting moments at this time, but she loves to learn new stories, so questions and new directions are always welcome. Past President of the Kentucky Storytelling Association, she has attended workshops and professional training for years and studied storytelling under Margaret Read McDonald, Mary Hamilton and Doug Lipman to name a few. A member of NSN since 2005 In 2008 she became librarian at GRCC, a medium security all male prison in Western Kentucky. After joining the Special Libraries Association and change her KLA division from public to Special section, she has become active as a workshop leader presenting not only in Kentucky but for Tennesee Library Association in Memphis 2010.
