Founded by Sacramento's top Salon Owners, Mixed Institute of Cosmetology is the first African American Cosmetology School in Sacramento. Mixed, which stands for Multicultural, Innovative, Cutting Education, seeks to provide students with the skills to perform services needed for the diverse population that Sacramento holds. Mixed provides students with on-the-job training taught by seasoned Hair Stylists and Salon Owners, along with the skills to do hair for all ethnicities. Mixed provides students with both hair & business skills, along with the confidence to succeed in the ever-changing cosmetology industry. All courses at Mixed are designed to prepare students to pass the California State Department of Barbering and Cosmetology licensing examination so that they may operate as a Cosmetologist in the state of California.
