Stand Up Paddle (SUP) is originally from Hawaii. In the sixties and during the time of the Beach Boys every American wanted to learn to surf. Hawaiian surf teachers were already standing up on their board at that time to keep an eye on the huge amount of surf students. It was also a good way to make photo's of the floundering tourists. So what is the big difference between Stand Up Paddle and Surfing? When you are surfing you lie on your stomach on your board and use both arms to paddle. When you are on a SUP-board you are standing up with one paddle in your hands which you use to paddle alongside both sides of your board, a couple strokes on each side at the time. That is the reason why the Stand Up Paddle sport is one of the most complete (core) workouts you can get. You train your legs, buttocks, abdomen, back, arms and shoulders. At M&M SUP we paddle on Boga boards.
