Mental Health Care - St. Paul, MN, United States
In March 2019, we launched MN Mental Health Advocates to help Minnesotans get the mental health services and resources they need and deserve. Our unique model pairs each client with an advocate who not only connects clients to resources, but walks alongside them throughout their journey. Our goal is to provide a safety net of ongoing education and advocacy to minimize the risk of clients falling off the care pathway and to improve health outcomes. Our advocate role is similar to that of the care coordinator - a role utilized in chronic physical illness to enhance health outcomes. In April 2020, we launched a program specific to the needs of healthcare professionals. This population is already high risk for secondary or vicarious trauma and that risk was only exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
