Hospital & Health Care - Riviera Beach, Florida, United States
Mobility Orthopedics will empower stakeholders by improving the experience of total knee replacements, "TKRs", for patients, surgeons and payers. Our mission is to use Mobile Surgery Centers, "MSCs", as a medical vehicle to provide a high quality, cost effective solution to compliment what hospitals are currently doing. Through the recent regulatory change by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, "CMS", of moving total knee procedures from the inpatient to the outpatient registry, Mobility Orthopedics aims to capitalize on the shift in the TKR marketplace. Our goal is for surgeons to share in the facility fee and savings generated by the facility, take advantage of the increase in demand for total knees and drive down overall costs associated with these procedures while providing better outcomes.OUR SURGEONSSurgeons have experienced declining reimbursement for total knees over the past decade. Our surgeons will be able to make up for this shortfall by owning a surgery center and sharing in the savings and profits created by that facility. Demand will be driven by our key surgeon(s), the fast growing total knee market and our integrated marketing plan.LOCATIONWe have strategically chosen Florida to launch our first facility due to its population and the number of knee replacements per capita. Also, we plan to market Florida as a destination healthcare experience. Of the 1 million total knee procedures last year in the U.S., approximately 10% took place in Florida.THE FACILITYOur Mobile Surgery Centers are designed, certified and approved by one of the leading manufacturers in the industry. They are U.S. healthcare code compliant as Ambulatory Surgery Centers. These facilities are designed and manufactured to provide on-site mobile standalone surgical services. Mobility Orthopedics' surgery centers will be the first of its kind, specifically established for total knee replacements with the capability to expand into other areas in the future.
