Higher Education - The Hague, South Holland, Netherlands
Model United Nations is widely known for providing a realistic simulation of the work of the United Nations and its subsidiary bodies, as well as of international and regional political fora. MUNOTH is a growing, fully international Model United Nations conference, organized by and for university students. At MUNOTH we offer the possibility of experiencing the world of diplomacy in the International City of Peace and Justice, The Hague. The theme of this year's MUNOTH is: 'Global Repercussions: The Key Role of Environmental Security'. The topics students discuss in their committee sessions deal with the most urgent matters on the agenda of the United Nations, as well as the concerns flowing from the implementation of environmental dimensions within an approach to sustainable development. As we also want to make our conference diverse, we have chosen to simulate a variety of international political bodies: the United Nations Human Rights Council, the Economic and Social Council, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and the Security Council. As we are situated in The Hague, a simulation of the International Court of Justice is a staple ingredient to our conference, as well. All of the simulations are carefully documented by our press team, the MUNOTH Observer.
