Modern Heritage Eye Care was found by Dr. Nahrain Shastten. Dr. Shasteen graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2009. During optometry school she was a recipient of the InfantSee scholarship. She returned to The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2010 to pursue a Master's Fellowship in binocular vision and pediatrics. During the fellowship, Dr. Shasteen served as a clinical attending and conducted research in the area of vision therapy. She specifically studied the effects of vision therapy on accommodative insufficiency, the inability of young eyes to properly focus up close. Dr. Shasteen has had her research presented at the American Academy of Optometry and has been a collaborator on work presented at The Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. She is a current Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry, a member of the American Optometric Association and Ohio Optometric Association. Dr. Shasteen is committed to providing the most advanced, current, and scientifically researched care to her patients. She continues to be a provider for the InfantSee program, a no-cost complete eye exam to infants between the ages of 6 and 12 months.
