Museums - Peterborough, NH, US
The Monadnock Center for History and Culture is a vibrant center for community connection where more than 100 programs, exhibits and events are offered each year. The Monadnock Center builds community through a greater understanding of our region's past, present and future for the benefit of residents and visitors. The Monadnock Center for History and Culture was founded in 1902 as the Peterborough Historical Society. Over its 100+ year history, the Center has developed a fine collection of artifacts and documents that illustrate the history and culture of the Monadnock Region and the town of Peterborough. The Monadnock Center is headquartered in a stately Colonial Revival building in the heart of downtown Peterborough where visitors will find our museum, research library and Bass Hall, our lovely assembly room used for concerts, classes, lectures and a host of events throughout the year.
