Monfils Pictures is a production company founded by director, producer and independent filmmaker Harold Monfils in 1998 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With more more than 20 years of international experience in advertising, Monfils has a wallpaper of awards for his commercial work, and has won international acclaim for his first feature documentary, Laya Project. Laya Project (commissioned by EarthSync, India) has been described as a "personal and collective musical tribute to the resilience of the human spirit" and is dedicated to the survivors of the December 26, 2004 Asian tsunami. The crew was assembled with members from India, Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, Spain and Sweden. The film was shot in India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Maldives and Myanmar . The audio was mixed in India. The video was edited in London. And, the documentary has aired across the world, winning industry awards from Australia to Italy.Monfils Pictures completed a feature documentary titled Hoka Hey, A Good Day To Die in March 2016. Hoka Hey recounts the extraordinary life story of award-winning photojournalist - Jason P. Howe - a self-taught photographer whose passion and thirst for adventure leads him to the front lines of conflict zones in Columbia, Iraq, Lebanon and Afghanistan, capturing images of humanity at war, its suffering, and cultures in disarray. This is Jason's story of survival and change. Hoka Hey is set to screen its World Premiere at Biografilm Festival 2016, in Bologna Italy. Bangkok Rules is a feature film also currently in development by Monfils Pictures.
