The Mongolian Center for Investigative Reporting (MCIR) is the country's first independent, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of journalism as a vital support for our nation's democracy by engaging and empowering the public through groundbreaking storytelling. The MCIR produces public interest investigations and offers training and mentorship for journalists via robust cross-border collaborations. Our key activities:- Producing quality investigative journalism stories focused on human rights violations, misuse of taxpayer money and threats to public safety - Capacity building for newsrooms on investigative journalism - Training and coaching young journalists through internship programs- Promoting best practices and techniques on investigative and solutions journalism in the Mongolian media sector- Conducting media monitoring and research, organizing activities in order to improve the quality of journalism in Mongolia
