Montem is a vibrant inner-city school. We aim to nurture and inspire our learners to become motivated and successful citizens who are equipped to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. We do this by creating a positive, stimulating environment that promotes the development of children's academic, social, moral, spiritual and physical learning. Montem School is a two form entry Primary School catering for children from 2 to 11. There are 14 classes with 30 children per class and a 52 place Nursery. The classes are organised into age groups with two classes in each year group from Reception through to Year 6. Our most recent Ofsted report described the school as ‘a warm and welcoming school in which pupils are safe and behave well'. Ofsted found that all children at Montem make good progress and for some this progress is outstanding. Ofsted described the teachers at Montem as knowing their subjects well and having high expectations of pupils. Pupils were seen to enjoy their lessons and have a desire to learn.
