The Chamber is a fully-integrated economic development organization, dedicated to both job creation and job preservation. As a member-based business organization, we work to grow markets for our members. Our work is focused in the following areas:•Recruitment and expansion of existing businesses.•Development and nurturing of entrepreneurial and minority businesses.•Tourism and convention development.•Military and federal affairs. We also champion a broad array of community development issues as they relate to our mission, including governmental affairs, education, diversity and leadership development.We have been the driving force for building successful businesses and a vibrant economy since 1873. Governed by a volunteer board of directors and operated by a professional staff, the Chamber works to ensure that businesses have what they need to flourish. The Chamber is the voice of business in governmental affairs, both locally and on a national level, providing products and services to member businesses that help them grow and prosper. Through consistent communication with members, and a volunteer climate that encourages involvement and service, the Chamber develops and implements programs that are relevant to the needs of member businesses.
