Montreal Nuclear Services is a new consulting firm started up by senior engineers of the former AECL (Candu Energy) Montreal Office. We offer services in a wide range of nuclear safety disciplines built on a strong state-of-the-art experience. We can tackle a large variety of safety analyses both deterministic and probabilistic. We are known to be creative and autonomous in solving client issues, respecting cost and schedule. We respect our customer's licensing approach. We are client-oriented and results-driven. We also have access to a significant pool of nuclear safety expertise, as partners or subcontractors. Consulting specialties include: - Deterministic Safety Analysis: PHTS accident scenarios (CATHENA), physics modeling (RFSP, RCCTS), moderator and end-shielding simulations (CATHENA). - Dose and Containment Analysis: thermal-hydraulics, radionuclide transport and retention inside the reactor building, and radionuclide release (GOTHIC, SMART), atmospheric dispersion and doses to the public (ADDAM). - Probabilistic Safety & Risk Analysis: Level 1 and Level 2 PSA analysis, PSA-Based Seismic Margin Assessment, Fault tree modelling and analysis (FTA with CAFTA software), systematic review of initiating events resulting in activity release and common cause failure (CCF) methodology documentation. - Spent fuel dry storage design and safety analysis. - Operation and reactor start-up support: Phase B/C commissioning tests, reactor regulating system and fuel management. - Licensing: RD-310 implementation, support with regulatory interactions - Hydrogen: Passive Autocatalytic (Hydrogen) Recombiner (PAR) design and implementation
