Mooker & Ji is a start-up which aims to push economic development and foreign investment in India through the distribution of products made by local artists and entrepreneurs in rural and urban India. While almost all our designs are exclusively designed "in-house", we strive to be entrepreneurs who help other entrepreneurs succeed by collaborating on manufacturing, materials, and building a finished product. While one of us is an artist and designer who wishes to re-create vintage looks while experimenting with new ones, the other is a political scientist, inspired by writings and books on globalization, international trade, international relations, foreign investment, and international development. Other influences include some of the best economists, international relations theorists, anthropologists, and politically-conscious entrepreneurs and businesspeople in the world. We are also greatly inspired by the "Make in India" initiative launched by the current Modi Government in India.
