The Moon Mountain District is an American Viticulture Area that spans 17,000 acres of mountainous terrain on the western slope of the Mayacamas mountains from 400 feet in elevation to the ridgeline between Sonoma Valley and Napa Valley. Vineyards in this region are renowned for rocky, volcanic soil, high elevations and western exposure.
