The MORE (Marine Offshore Renewable Energy) Lab research center was born in 2020, with the purpose of studying the development of industrial systems able to produce energy from marine and offshore wind sources. The research group addresses the challenges related to the design, model, and control of WECs (Wave Energy Converters) and of FOWTs (Floating Offshore Wind Turbines). Among the systems studied by the MORE Lab there are the gyroscopic converters ISWEC, IOWEC and SWINGO-WEC, the pendulum-based PeWEC, and the offshore wind devices HexaFloat and SPAR buoy. The Laboratory takes advantage of the research infrastructures of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of Politecnico di Torino, and of the test site located in Pantelleria.
