The Moselle Open was born around the common passion for a sport, tennis, and a strong attachment to an entire department and a city. The event is guided by the desire to progress in its general organization, by seeking development and innovation. The Moselle Open with its 16 successful editions, its history of men and faithful partners, by its growing desire for new partners to join the adventure, continues its progression on the ATP circuit, in the emotional universe in which it is integrates: Moselle.The tournament is one of four ATP 250 tournaments organized in France. The Moselle Open is one of the 41 ATP 250 tournaments in the world and 65 tournaments in the world (ATP 250, ATP 500, Masters 1000 and Grand Slam). Metz is one of the 3 smallest cities to organize a professional tennis tournament. Created in 2003, the Moselle Open is the most important sporting event of the Grand Est of France with more than 50 000 spectators on the duration of the tournament during its last edition in 2018. Anchored in the local life, the tournament is strongly supported by the Department of Moselle, title partner of the event.At the end of 2009, the tournament was close to being taken over by the Moselle. Threatened to disappear from its creative landscape, its creators fought to keep this event, which has become a beacon in the region and beyond. It is rare for a city the size of Metz to host a tournament of this size. Most ATP events take place in the capitals of the world.
