The MOSS Group (previously M-BIRR) is composed of two companies. An Irish company founded in Dublin in 2009 and the Ethiopian company set up in Addis Ababa the following year. The Group is focused exclusively on the Ethiopian market and provide Technology and Support Services to Ethiopian Financial Instituions for the delivery of mobile money services, particularly the M-BIRR Service. MOSS has developed strong business relationships on the ground with financial institutions and the mobile network operator Ethio Telecom. MOSS is a spin-off from NCL Technologies, a mobile software development company with more than 12 years experience in developing mission critical mobile applications and middleware.
