Motherwell Cheshire Description Motherwell Cheshire is a CIO that offers support in the towns of Winsford and Crewe and surrounding areas. Founded in 2015 by Kate Blakemore as a CIC, Motherwell has grown over the years to become a CIO is 2017 with Kate as the CEO. Motherwell Cheshire has a dedicated team of specialists providing support, education, and advocacy to women and girls. Through peer support, mentoring, counselling, crisis support and volunteering we support women and girls to improve their self advocacy skills and their mental health and wellbeing. Motherwell Cheshire mission statement is "Encourage, Inspire and Empower" the women and girls that we support. Motherwell Cheshire have created a community of women, run by women for women. Motherwell Cheshire is embedded in the local community and receives referrals from GPs, social care, health visitors , midwifes and other third sector organisations.Motherwell Cheshire has 3 signature projects, Believe project - this supports the mental health and wellbeing of women who are at crisis point as they are at risk of or have had their children removed by their care. This project offers intense support to the women with a Person Centred support plan put into place for each women that we work with. This project is currently being evaluated by Chester University with the plans to offer this project as a social franchise. Inspire Project - this project offers counselling and peer support to girls aged between 14-18 years. The inspire project not only supports the mental health of the girls but also encourages them with self belief and self esteem through a programme of different experiences. MUM (Mums Uniting Mums) - this project support Mums on the mothering journey, we offer counselling peer support, to provide the mums with a wellbeing toolkit for them to build up their resilience and feel more connected to like minded mums.
