Started in 1996, MOTO AVENTURES initially organised quality guided off road tours around the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean and exciting off-road adventures in the Atlas Mountains & Sahara Desert of Morocco.In 2007 we began our touring adventures on BMW GS1200s across Southern Africa and in 2015 held our first tour into Morocco from Spain on the BMWs.Owned and run by John Griffiths and Su Downham, Moto Aventures was born as the result of an idea John had whilst spending two winters biking across Africa from London to Cape Town.In Morocco we use a selection of 3* and 4* hotels, most styled on the old kasbahs. (fortified houses) One night the accommodation is an original 200+ year old kasbah that has been totally renovated and conditioned to be a hotel. Most of the hotels have swimming pools but they're normally cold! The night in our desert bivouac, 90 km from tarmac, is always a highlight. Across the countries we visit in Southern Africa we have chosen to use wonderful luxury African lodges and tented camps with occasionally something more simple to keep your feet on the ground! Wonderful food, and the unique chance to see wildlife in its natural habitat from the back of a bike.Offering just two 8 day tours a year when we give you the chance to experience our latest off-road destination: Greece. Single tracks and technical riding; good weather; amazing local food and culture.Your safety is an extremely important issue to us and one that we have spent a lot of time and money investigating, so as to enable us to offer you the best possible service.We are unique in that we install, FREE of charge, a GPS on your bike during any of our tours with us. Multiple Sat phones, support vehicles, and for our more remote Southern Africa Tours a fully dedicated medic, supported with a comprehensive professional medical kit, including defibrillator, vacuum splints and even oxygen.
