Motor City Exchange was started by three Detroiters with a desire to engage more fully with the city we come from. Motor City Exchange is a new social venture, aimed at inviting conversation between Detroiters, outsiders, community leaders and entrepreneurs through a comprehensive 10-week summer fellowship program. The idea is two-fold. 1) Through internships, fellows will drive capacity at local institutions that have a demonstrated and explicit commitment to community development in Detroit's neighborhoods. 2) Through programming, fellows will be exposed to a dynamic and not always agreed-upon set of strategies that local leaders are taking to shape Detroit's future.
