The Mt Mee Coffee plantation, established in 2003, is located in the D'Aguilar Range of South East Queensland, overlooking the spectacular Glasshouse Mountains. The area is a unique combination of prime agricultural land and large reserves of pristine rainforest and eucalypt forests. Mt Mee's rich volcanic soil, elevated position, and good rainfall provide the ideal conditions for growing first class coffee. The 100% Arabica coffee produced by the Mt Mee Coffee Company is Condong Range Bourbon (CRB), an indigenous cultivar that has naturally evolved in sub-tropical Australia since the 1880s. CRB is a high yielder with natural hardiness and cold tolerance, resistant to both 'Berry Disease' and 'Coffee Rust'. Each year the trees are covered with white, jasmine-scented flower clusters, followed by masses of green berries which mature to a beautiful cherry-red. Each glossy cherry contains a large flavour-filled bean which eventually finds its way into our delicious roasted coffee.
