Philanthropy - Dublin, Dublin, Ireland
The Mount Street Club Trust is a private charitable trust, originally founded in Dublin in 1934 as a unique response to unemployment and poverty in the city. The main object of the Trust is the relief of the effects of disadvantage and poverty associated primarily with unemployment, either through donations and grants to charities in the Republic of Ireland which provide basic skills and training, rehabilitation, education and other relevant assistance aimed at such relief, or by any other direct means that may seem appropriate from time to time. The current iteration of the main object involves providing funding and support to five organisations as part of the Hope & Ambition programme that began in June 2019 and will complete its first phase in December 2022.Broadly speaking, Hope & Ambition focuses on two key themes: ‘Change the System' and ‘Make a Difference'. While hoping that experiences within the programme may have relevance to a wider audience, the current focus is on work with people with intellectual disabilities, migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and Travellers.Mount Street Club Trust is a Private Charitable Trust registered in Ireland | RCN: 20004361 | CHY: 3522
