An ambitious Swiss cultural project for charity. www.mountainclimbers.ch Company overview : MOUNTAIN CLIMBERS: Revisiting a Swiss Icon - is a cultural project for charity. The project was launched in September 2010 by 3 very complementary friends: Inès Flammarion, an art consultant, Albert Schrurs, an architect and designer, co-founder of Allegory sàrl, and Nicolas Bernheim, a marketing and communication specialist. The Mountain Climbers Association is a non-profit association registered in Switzerland. Description: In 2013, ski-gondolas will be dismantled in Verbier and Mountain Climbers will be recuperating 40 of them. 40 Swiss architects, designers and artists have been asked to transform them into something else. Once transformed, the 40 gondolas will be shown in 3 major exhibitions in 2014 across Switzerland: - in Basel during the Art Basel / Design Miami Fair - in Verbier during the Orchestra Festival and the annual international horse jumping contest. - in Geneva, at the "Genève Aéroport" where the auction sale by Christies will also take place. All the project's profits will benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation of Switzerland which grants magical wishes to children living with a serious medical condition. (http://www.makeawish.ch)
